Have you always dreamed of building your own campervan but do not know where to start? Or maybe you already have plans but could use a head start? Then join the Wilderness Wheels 1-day van build course!

This course is designed to help you transform an empty van into your own campervan. I will guide you through all the important steps of the process, from planning and design to the essential tools and techniques needed to bring your dream to life. Get ready to dive in, learn new skills, ask questions and start building your perfect van! The course will be a combination of theory and practice where the workshop will form a nice environment to not only talk but experience the theory in practice!

  • The main topics we will discuss are:

    • Tools: necessary or nice to have? We go into detail into the basic tools that are necessary and discuss different tools that might be worth the investment but are not strictly necessary.

    • Interior design: van sizes and lay-outs. We will discuss the different types of vans, what to focus on when buying a van and talk about (dis)advantages of different lay-outs and how to start your design.

    • Cutting holes. A detailled dive into all the holes you need to make in your van. How to do it accurate and safe. Think windows, sunroofs, shore power outlet, solar panels.

    • Warmth and Walls: insulation and building inner walls. A discussion on different types of insulation and what to think about when insulating your van. After insulation the interior will come to life when building the interior walls!

    • (Ply)wood: which materials do I choose? We talk about, and look at, different materials you can use, and discuss pros and cons.

    • Electrical: Introduction in 12v and 230v. We will go through the basics of a proper (off-grid)electrical system.

    • Building furniture. An overview of different ways of building van furniture and some handy tips and tricks to make your life easier when building!

    • Your van! There will be enough time to dicuss your project/dreams. Do you already have a van? Bring it! And of course you can discuss and share your plans with the other participants.

    Not only will this course give you a lot of theoretical knowledge, my intention is also to give you the practical wisdom to transform this knowledge into an actual build. We will be in the workshop and look at materials, tools and appliances to directly turn theory into practice!

  • The course will be held in the Wilderness Wheels workshop:

    There is a possibility to rent a stuga next to the workshop or book a stay in Hotel Årjäng (10 min. drive).

  • The price for the course is 1900 SEK incl. moms. This includes:

    • a very useful and intensive course with a personal focus, there will be a maximum of 10 participants.

    • the possibility to ask questions and get advice on your own van build.

    • fika and lunch.

    • a 40% discount on a 1 hour video consultation (360 instead of 600 SEK).
